Victoria Public transport will be free on Christmas and New year

The festive spirit of Christmas and New Year just got amplified because of the free public transport that can be availed of on these days. The free service on New years eve will be applicable only from 6pm on wards. Metropolitan trains, NightRider buses, trams will all be running full night shifts to ensure people get home safely. V/Line services for travelling into and departing MElbourne will be availed of free on New years eve after the stipulated 6pm. Passengers who book a ticket can avail of the option to get a refund. The mykis on ticket barriers will remain deactivated on the free travel days. This will be valid oly till the morning of Jan 1.
