Sale on OKI C130N Color Laser Network Printer for only $159
That extra outlay buys you some useful workgroup features, such as the network port and the second-largest paper tray on test, but the C130n's performance suggests that busy offices should look elsewhere. Printing in colour requires each page to pass through the printer four times, leaving the Oki's colour performance of 5ppm in the middle of the pack. Reserve it for black-and-white printing, though, and you're looking at the second-fastest printer here - we saw 21ppm on our straightforward black-and-white documents, and a very good time to first page of 11 seconds. The C130n also offers the largest amount of Ram here, at an impressive-sounding 256MB. Unfortunately, this didn't translate to speed when it came to complex documents. Our full-page photograph took more than two-and-a-half minutes to finish, which works out at around three times longer than any other printer on test. Moreover, our five-page PDF, which includes graphics, text and photographs, was even worse. Printing just five pages took 13 minutes 46 seconds. If you want to print out proofs of complex documents, the Oki C130n certainly isn't for you.
