First thing to note is that it shows as $1599 on the webpage and that is because another $50 will be taken off during checkout because of another promotion. This TV is the very similar to the one I've had for quite a while ago and I have to say that I absolutely love it. The Universal Remote takes a bit of time to get used to and is unnecessary unless you're using the browser or main menu. Unless your TV is dedicated to online applications like Netflix and Hulu, you won't be using the pointer function much. 3D is quite nice for certain movies dedicated to 3D but doesn't work with regular channels. You can activate the function but it only makes it look like it's in a box. Other than those, this is still a great TV to have in your home.
